Enrolment and Funding
Course Requirements and Funding Eligibility
All courses require our learners to satisfy certain criteria before they enrol.
You should ensure that you read all the information on the website about your specific course before enrolling. By enrolling via the KAE website, you are confirming you have read these details and meet any enrolment requirements specified on the course outline.
If the course requires a pre-enrolment interview, you will be unable to enrol via the website. Please contact your centre to arrange an interview and enrolment.
Funding
All our courses are funded by the Department for Education (DfE), Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or the Greater London Authority (GLA - if you live in the London area) and are free to eligible learners.
Full funding eligibility for accredited qualifications
Our funders require us to collect additional information from learners who are enrolled on accredited qualifications.
If you are unemployed, in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance, Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, or other state benefits, or are employed and low waged, we may be able to claim full funding from the Department of Education (DfE), Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Greater London Authority (GLA) for your learning and associated exam fees.
At enrolment, learners are required to provide us details of their employment, earnings and benefit circumstances. If the information you provide meets the DfE/DWP criteria for full funding, we will ask you to complete a 'full funding eligibility declaration' form via your Kent Adult Education Learner Portal account.
This declaration form will provide us with the evidence we need to submit our claim for funding to the DfE/DWP.
You will be sent an email from our kaeconcessions@kent.gov.uk address if we need you to complete a 'full funding declaration' form. This email will ask you to log into your KAE Learner Portal account and complete a declaration form by a set date.
If your employment, earnings or benefit circumstances have changed since you enrolled, you will be able to provide an update to this information on your declaration form.
Your completion of this declaration form is a requirement of your enrolment on accredited qualification learning and will enable us to continue offering free provision to all our learners in future.
