Who can join this course

Online AQA GCSE maths courses are available for UK or Irish nationals, or EEA nationals with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and those who have lived in the UK for at least three years.
If you do not currently meet this criteria, you may still be able to attend our GCSE courses if you have an eligible residency status, you will be required to provide further details regarding your status before you can be enrolled.

GCSE maths is FREE for those who don't already have GCSE maths at grade C/4 or above.

Acceptance on a KAE Skills GCSE maths course does not constitute an immigration sponsorship and no Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) certificate will be issued.

Before enrolling on a GCSE maths course you will need to complete an initial assessment. Please book an assessment at your local centre.

Is this course for me

If you are seeking employment or career advancement, wishing to help your children with school work or just looking for a new challenge, GCSE maths could be for you. Teaching and learning are delivered through real time lessons, discussion, group work, and supported by online resources. Please note GCSE maths will require 4-6 hours of self study each week.

What will I need for my course

You will need a laptop or computer with good Internet connection, a working microphone and camera. You should have a scientific calculator (make and model to be advised by tutor), geometry set (ruler, set square, protractor). You may be advised to buy some texts, your tutor will advise.

What can I do next

You can progress onto A level maths or higher level study with Kent Adult Education or other learning providers.

Additional Information

Assessment is needed before joining this course. Please contact your local centre to complete an application. Please note there are 3 face to face Saturday sessions as part of the course which will take place at Ashford Gateway on 11/10/25, 31/01/26 and 09/05/26, 10-2pm.

To get the most out of your course we recommend you attend at least 85% of your sessions. If you do have a pre-arranged commitments booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcome.

The course is assessed by three 1 hour 30 minute written examinations, one of which will be a non calculator paper, taking place in May/June. In centre mock exams will be held in January. You will be given further information about exams in the first session of the course by your tutor.
