Who can join this course
Learners who are sitting FS maths exam this year, along with anyone who just wants to refresh what they have learned in the past.

Is this course for me
The purpose of the course is to revise Functional skills maths (Level 1 and 2) focusing on the topics that learners often have difficulty with.
The topics include: Averages, fractions, percentages, perimeter, area and volume, BIDMAS and formula, ratio and scale drawings, and probability.
Along with revising these topics: learners will be given hints and tips for doing FS maths exams; to model how to answer exam questions; and make learners aware of common misconceptions and errors.
It should geared to learners who are sitting their exam this year, along with anyone who just wants to refresh what they have learned in the past.
From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.
Assessment is needed before joining this course. Please contact your local centre to complete an application.
As part of your funding agreement, you must attend at least 85% of your lessons, complete any required self study and all necessary qualifications you are enrolled on. You may be withdrawn if you do not attend regularly. If you have a pre arranged commitment booked during term time, please contact your tutor to catch up on any missed work.
