Who can join this course

Response courses are for those aged 19 and above, who are unemployed or low-waged, live in Kent and looking to progress into employment, volunteering, start a learning journey or improve their wellbeing.
All courses are funded by the Department for Education (DFE) Adult Skills Fund and are FREE to eligible learners.

To be eligible to enrol and attend our courses you must have lawful permission to reside in the UK and be ordinarily resident in the UK at the course start date.
Dependent on your individual circumstances, you may be required to show evidence of your residency status before you can enrol and attend courses with us.

Is this course for me

This course is for anyone who wants to make social media work for them and get the most out of online resources. Participants will learn how to use social media effectively in their job search, build their online presence, and uncover employment opportunities, including jobs that are not publicly advertised.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Explain what the hidden job market is and why it matters.
* Identify their unique selling points (USPs).
* Use networking and social media strategically.
* Make speculative calls, emails, and drop ins confidently.

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.
