You must meet the entry requirements for the course
- You must be a UK national, or an Irish national, or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement scheme
- You must have been resident in the UK or an EEA country continuously for the 3 years preceding the start date of your course. For learners living in the Greater London Authority area only you must have valid permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months in duration from the start date of your course.
- You must be aged 19 or over as at the 31st August 2024 for courses in the 2024/25 academic year
- You must agree to commit to and complete an Individual Learning Plan in agreement with your course tutor
Who can join this course
You will need to have completed the BSL Level 2 Award in British Sign Language or have BSL experience and skill to that level.

You cannot enrol direct with Kent Adult Education.
This course is for students who wish to acquire intermediate level skills to enhance communication with Deaf people, or those who are Deaf themselves and wish to gain a qualification in their native language. It is also suitable for those who have Deaf family, friends and colleagues and those who wish to progress from Level 1 to a more advanced level of study in BSL.
Is this course for me
This Level 2 course is delivered in partnership with Hi Kent (www.hikent.org) and leads to the Signature Level 2 Certificate in British Sign Language. Students MUST have already passed the Level 1 Award in BSL.
