Who can join this course

Anyone who would like to try their hand at Lino printing for the first time. It is not a course for anyone who has experience in lino printing but have tried other forms on printing and would like to try lino out.

Is this course for me

Come along and try printing out and see how enjoyable it can be, if a little messy. All the materials will be provided for the course, so bring along a open mind and your inner creativity.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Produce at least 3 prints using Lino
* Use a print press safely to create your prints
* Create at least one original drawing to use in a print
* Explain the health and safety considerations for all resources and tools used

You will also be asked to think of Personal Aims to individualise your learning experience, as well as another benefits the course may have.

What will I need for my course

Please bring along a sketchbook and pencil for drawing out your ideas and an apron, as printing can be a messy subject.
The inks and the paper for the course are provided.

Additional Information

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.

To get the most out of your course we recommend you attend at least 85% of your sessions. If you do have a pre-arranged commitments booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcome.
