- You must be ordinary resident in the UK at the start date of the course - Ordinary resident means you live in the UK and have chosen to live here for a settled purpose
- You must be a British citizen
- You must be aged 19 or over as at the 31st August 2025 for courses in the 2025/26 academic year
- You must agree to commit to and complete an Individual Learning Plan in agreement with your course tutor
Who can join this course
This course is aimed at those who have completed several Beginners or Improver courses in this subject, or have previous experience in this subject and have an interest in progressing their chosen subject in a vocational direction; this might include exihibiting and selling work. Those with no experience of this subject should consider our range of Beginners courses.

They are the perfect vocational course for anyone looking to take the first steps in starting a career or progressing onto further work skills or accredited courses. The focus of this course is to work on foundational skills and hone these to a high enough standard to potentially work in this field in the future. As part of this course, there is an expectation that you will attend an online session by the National Careers Service.
