Meet our tutors - Francisco Canto

Francisco always loved learning languages and has highly esteemed both travel and learning as he felt that this was the best way to open the mind and broaden the horizons. However, at first, Francisco pursued a stressful career which he found was not allowing him to feel fully satisfied. After he started teaching Spanish, Francisco realised how rewarding helping others gain new skills really is and he finally felt like he has found his calling.

Now, Francisco is one of the valued tutors at Kent Adult Education and shares his passion for learning with his students. Whilst he believes in and follows the proven methods of language teaching, Francisco also highly values the social aspect of teaching which allows students to open up and really take in new knowledge. He focuses his students on practising talking in Spanish about real-life situations and prepares them for real conversations. And he also feels that learning new languages is so incredibly valuable, especially in these difficult times. As Francisco himself says: "During the pandemic, a student told me that for 2 months, he had only talked with other people during my lessons, and another mentioned the importance of Spanish lessons in her blog about how she is getting over her illness. Those examples make me value, even more, the importance of what we do. Create connections."
