Who can join this course

For anybody who is looking to improve the practical speaking and listening skills needed to cope with a range of situations related to the leisure & tourism industry, more complex than those at Beginners level. Students need to either have completed a Beginners courses or be able to express themselves and understand simple information relating to personal, work or social matters. If you are unsure carry out our self-assessment test available on www.kentadulteducation.co.uk. The assessment provides a score to help you chose the best course for you. If still unsure, speak to us or to a Area Education Manager.

Is this course for me

Do you want to be able to use Spanish in a range of tourism related situations? This is the aim of this course. You will benefit from exchanging face to face with a supportive tutor and others as you practise speaking and enjoy learning the language with a view to using it at the workplace.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Exchange/extract key information on a variety of related topics/situations
* Make simple arrangements
* Deal with basic problems and complaints
* Listen and respond to information from a range of sources (telephone messages, news headlines/public announcements, instructions, conversations)
* Expand upon grammar and new vocabulary related to the travel industry

Additional Information

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.
