Enjoy a day of Drawing in a Landscape and looking at landscape artists with someone who can guide you through the myriad of different ways to do this. Start with some basic mark making to painting ideas that you have developed as the day goes along. You will learn how to mix colour using coloured pencils or paint, this could help you with all aspects of your life or just help understand how the landscape has been used by all different artists. The tutor will show you how you can draw and paint and be creative outside where there are no judgements just a supportive environment.

During the day you will learn:
To identify what is in the Landscape you need in your drawings
Create a series of drawings to use as ideas for final pieces of work
Mix appropriate colours to mark our your landscape
Develop an basic understanding of perspective and how to use it

An outdoor location will be identified nearer to the course date but will be accessible on public transport and in the Tunbridge Wells Borough.

How will I be taught?

You will, through discussion and negotiation with the tutor, develop an idea of your personal learning outcomes and will work towards these. The tutor will use a variety of teaching methods including instruction, demonstration, practice, experimentation and discovery, video and slide shows, one-to-one and group discussion.

What do I need to bring with me?

The centre will provide materials to get you you started. If you only have a sketchbook please bring it along with a pencil and any art materials you may have.

During your course, your tutor will offer guidance in your personal progression route.

What do I need to join the course

Be interested in Drawing in the landscape for the day and want to learn more about the subject and produce some of your own work without judgement.
It is important to note that Art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you or be accompanied by another adult please ask to speak to a Curriculum Leader before you enrol.
