Do you want to be able to speak Arabic at a basic level when visiting Arabic speaking countries?,
This is an opportunity to practise speaking Arabic and develop your language and vocabulary with your tutor and other students., , By the end of this course you will have:
• Expanded vocabulary on food/drink, directions and shopping,
• Start to express an opinion,
* Gain Cultural knowledge
• Improve accuracy through oral practice of the topics, * Have a better pronunciation, ,
Basic grammar will be studied. You will learn to use expressions and forms appropriate to the language using verbs at present tense, gender, prepositions and adjectives., , You may be given homework (1 hr max) each week to reinforce classroom learning., , ,

How will I be taught?
The focus will be on speaking and listening. Some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and Arabic culture are an integral part of the course. The course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. Learners will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play and games etc). Homework set will provide an opportunity for self-study., Initial assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student' starting point will be recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set targets. This will be revisited regularly during the course to monitor and record your progress. Tutors will give written or verbal feedback., ,
What do I need to have with me?
The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.,

What do I need to join the course
This course is for students who have completed the Beginners Plus courses or for those with a basic knowledge of the language (minimum 60 hours of study) who want to consolidate or refresh their skills at a Beginners level. This course is not for complete beginners., If you are unsure, please speak to us or to a Curriculum Leader.
