This Level 3 City and Guilds Award in Education and Training course is a good introduction for anyone who is considering a career in teaching in the post 16 education sector. On the course, you will study basic teaching theories and methods. For example, you will look at different learning styles; how to assess students and you will explore a range of different activities you can do with groups. Another important element of the course is a 'micro-teach' of 20 minutes which you will prepare and deliver to the rest of the group, this will be recorded for assessment purposes. You will be required to produce short written assignments on all the aspects of teaching that you have studied. You can expect good support from your tutors and mentors to help complete your written tasks.
There are three units to this qualification;
301 Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
302 Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
305 Understanding assessment in education and training
