The tutor for this course will guide you through:
What to look for to help you when making your drawings
Consider the composition of the image on the paper
Colour matching your palette to your plant or flower
Drawing and the use of line for accuracy
Help with the further understanding of plant biology
This is a very considered Art that can help you produce drawings to be proud of.
The sessions will be tutor led, to enable you to build your knowledge and skills in a progressive structured fashion leading to the opportunity for more self-directed work as the course progresses

You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook and individual learning plan (ILP) to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. You will undertake critical reflection and evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills.
What do I need to bring with me?
If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, you should have an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. You will need a good set of Watercolour paints and a container for water.
