This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners.

This writing course will help you explore various ideas and forms within a supportive and friendly virtual setting. You may wish to create fiction, pursue a creative aspiration or produce writing linked to real life - maybe even both - whatever your aspirations, Creative Writing: Writing for Pleasure should aid your endeavours.

Every term is self-contained but explores different themes, styles and techniques. This enables attendees to gain fresh input and challenges and you will have the opportunity to try out different concepts, approaches and genres, all the while gaining regular practical feedback and encouragement.

You will be able to -
- Write about experiences, places and characters (real or fictional) in an interesting and engaging way
- Explore a range of forms and genres in a supportive and friendly environment
-Give and receive constructive critique to help improve and progress your writing and use of language
- Develop and strengthen your individual style and voice
-Play with words, structure and meaning.

How will I be taught?

Initial assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student's starting point will be recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and targets will be set. This will be revisited from time to time during the course to monitor and record progress. Tutors will mark homework and give written or verbal feedback.

What do I need to have with me?

The minimum requirement is pen and paper. To get more from the course, access to a computer and printer is useful.
