This course will provide a broad introduction to drone photography, including the licences required and some of the post production techniques required. It is aimed at photographers who wish to expand into this exciting and still relatively new photographic field. Weather permitting there will be an opportunity to fly a drone and record some footage. Students are encouraged to bring their own drones if they have one. To maximise individual teaching, numbers will be limited on this course.
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- understand the legal requirements before you fly
- understand the basic flight and camera controls
- be aware of some of the dangers and limiting factors
- use some post production software to edit your pictures and videos
- be able to present your final footage in a professional way
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Dai Noble
Dai graduated with a BA in Photography over 20 years ago and since then has been involved in most aspects of the profession from developing and printing both black & white and colour pictures in a commercial lab, through selling cameras to running a professional studio and undertaking freelance commissions covering a wide variety of briefs. He has taught small groups on an informal basis and is bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience to Kent Adult Education, now delivering Photography courses over our West Kent sites.
How will I be taught?
Our courses provide an opportunity for students to learn and develop skills and techniques and to acquire an understanding of the subject. Tutors will use a variety of methods including demonstrations, instructions, one to one tutorial guidance, group discussions and critiques. Our courses are taught by qualified and experienced tutors most of whom are experienced artists.
Your tutor will monitor your progress against the outcomes of the course using an Individual Learning Plan. You will get to add your own goals to this document so that you can see what progress is being made. Your tutor will offer you support and guidance on how you can achieve your goals and improve your skills and technique.
What do I need to bring with me?
Note book and pen, if you have a drone you may bring it along.

During your course, your tutor will offer guidance in your personal progression route.
Courses are designed to progress students to higher levels of the Art. In addition, our courses support application to "Access to Degree Foundation courses" leading to Higher Education opportunities.
