This course is about camera on location. Looking and seeing as a photographer, taking your camera for a walk (like a canine friend) having fun with composition and varying techniques.

You will be inspired by and engage with your location, you will learn to look, see and photograph using the coastal town of Margate with its wide range of architecture from 18th century charm to 20th century modernism; its beaches and seascapes

We will start with a reconnaissance walk to discuss and choose what makes a good subject matter for our photograph making, then we will focus on one subject and pursue a project of our choice.

By the end of the day students should be able to:

1) Effectively identify a pleasing coastal image to photograph
2) Use different camera techniques to capture an image
3) Enhance or edit a photograph during post production in photoshop
4) Prepare an image for display
