Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Sarah McNulty
Sarah McNulty is a practising artist and a trained tutor, who has run classes for adults for several years. She has studied to M.A. level and exhibited paintings in London and Tokyo, where she was awarded a scholarship. Sarah has a wide experience of painting: using oils, acrylics and other water based paints on canvas and paper.
Drawing is also an important part of her creative process for recording observations and developing ideas for larger work. Sarah is inspired by colour and light in natural and man-made forms. She encourages students to learn, practise and experiment with methods whilst developing their own images, through sketchbook work, to feed into painting and drawing projects.
Her work was selected by the Royal Watercolour Society for an exhibition at the Bankside Gallery in London in 2019.
How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook and individual learning plan (ILP) to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. Students will need to understand the potential benefit from the programme of study, read and interpret ideas, communicate responses that are clear, logical and understandable and manage your own time. You will undertake critical reflection and evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills., ,
What do I need to bring with me?
