This course will help you develop the skills to:
• understand the main points of straightforward instructions or public announcements
• deal with most of the situations you might meet when travelling as a tourist in an English-speaking country
• ask simple questions and take part in factual conversations in a work environment
• write letters/emails or make notes on familiar matters.

How will I be taught?

You will work on a variety of activities as a class and in small groups or pairs. This allows the tutor to attend to individual needs as well as to direct the learning of the group as a whole. A variety of teaching strategies will be used. You will be expected to do homework: an average of 5 hours per week
An individual learning plan of work (ILP) is developed between you and the tutor. The ILP will be regularly monitored and discussed with your tutor. Additionally, your work will be regularly marked by your tutor who will give you oral/written feedback.
If you wish to take the exam, please note that the exam fee is not included in the course fee and you will need to pay an additional fee once your tutor has confirmed that you are ready to sit the exam.

What do I need to bring with me?

English-English dictionary, ring binder for handouts and homework, paper and pen.

What can I do next?
