A course for students who would like to investigate the formal qualities of image making such as colour, tone, shape, line and pattern in composition.
Both observational and imaginative starting points will be used in projects to inspire experimental painting.
By the end of this course you should be able to:
• Select and emphasise individual properties of image making (e.g. shape, form, line, colour and tone).
• Use and apply elements of colour theory effectively.
• Work in a flexible and exploratory way.
• Take inspiration from historical and contemporary art.
There is no set ‘homework’, but you are welcome to practise and do further work at home.
There is no qualification for this course.
There is limited parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby and on-street parking.
