For anybody who is looking to improve the practical speaking and listening skills needed to cope with day to day scenarios when travelling and socialising in French speaking countries.
This course is for Beginners and students who have been learning French in the past or through apps and would like to practise the language at basic level and progress to the next level.
This course will cover the following topics:
- Talking about you and your family/friends
- Description of places
- Dealing with everyday situations while on holiday
If you are unsure of your level, please carry out our self-assessment test available on www.kentadulteducation.co.uk or in our Centres. The assessment provides a score to help you chose the best course for you. If still unsure, please speak to us or to a Curriculum Leader.

How will I be taught?
The emphasis on this course is on listening and speaking. The lesson focus on language that is required in authentic situations. To help you develop language skills the course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. You will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play, games…). To ensure your progression, it is essential to attend on a regular basis. We also recommend that you spend 1 – 2 h each week doing private study as directed by your tutor., With your tutor, you will monitor and record your progress on your learning plan (ILP),
What do I need to bring with me?
The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.
What can I do next?
After completing module A you can continue with Module B and C.
The appropriate follow-on course after completion of at least two modules is a Beginners Plus course. The tutor will be able to advise or check www.kentadulteducation.co.uk
During your course your tutor will offer guidance in relation to your personal progression route. Courses are designed to progress you to further study or into employment.
