By the end of the course, successful students will be able to:
• develop use of past/present/future tenses in the context of describing holidays/self/others.
• use both types of future tense to make arrangements/plans
• use the past tense to talk about past events

You will be given homework to reinforce classroom learning.

How will I be taught?

The emphasis on this course is on listening and speaking. The lesson focus on language that is required in authentic situations. To help you develop language skills the course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. You will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play, games…). To ensure your progression, it is essential to attend on a regular basis. We also recommend that you spend 1 – 2 h each week doing private study as directed by your tutor.
With your tutor, you will monitor and record your progress on your learning plan (ILP)

What do I need to have with me?

The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.

What can I do next?

There may be a short “ Greek Beginners Plus - Summer School” to follow-up and reinforce learning. After this, the next appropriate follow-on course is an Intermediate course. The tutor will be able to advise or check www.kentadulteducation.co.uk.
During your course your tutor will offer guidance in relation to your personal progression route. Courses are designed to progress you to further study or into employment. In addition some of our courses support access to Further and Higher Education opportunities. KAE web site has information about these courses and developing your own business. Please speak with your tutor if you have an interest in self-employment or an interest in developing a career. We can also help you access the National Careers service.
