This massage course will be delivered face-to-face from Broadstairs library. In it you will learn to perform techniques such as effleurage, kneading, rolling, myofascial release and lymphatic drainage, all of which contribute to the recovery process after an exercise session. Receiving a massage post workout has many benefits for people participating in regular exercise. The benefits of receiving a massage after exercise include preventing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), decreasing pain and improving recovery.
By the end of the course you will know:
- The main muscle groups associated with common exercises
- The best massage techniques for post workout massage
- How to perform the main massage techniques for post workout massage
- A simple and effective post workout massage routine

How will I be taught?
All our tutors are professionally trained and keep up to date with their specialist subjects. Teaching methods will include lecture input, demonstration, discussion and time for questions and answers. Progress is monitored at all stages and special attention is paid to teaching the correct posture and pressure. Our complementary and beauty therapy courses are not intended as treatments, but as opportunities to learn. Our courses are open to both men and women, and where undressing is required, this is handled discreetly. If you have a disability and think it may affect your learning in the classroom, or using any of our other services, please speak to us in confidence as soon as possible. We will discuss options with you and do our best to provide the support you need.
What do I need to bring with me?
Students will need to bring;
• a small cushion for head
• a large bath towel or a sarong
• a hair band
• Notebook and pen
Short nails help to perform massage movements.
It will be necessary to remove earrings, chains and large rings. Please do not buy anything for the course.
