This week long summer course will be a mixture of projects in colour and tone using the life model for your inspiration. It is not a course for the beginner to the subject but for those would like to develop their personal practise using the life model as a starting point for their paintings. The tutor will also set projects and these can be interpreted and explored in discussion with the tutor. The emphasis will be on how you the student want to develop ideas with the help of a practising artist and teacher.
Expect a historical context as to how the nude has been used during the development of painting.

How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will keep a sketchbook/notebook to record goals, ideas, processes and progress to use later and also keep a record of your progress in your individual learning plan, ILP.
What do I need to bring with me?
Any materials you already have paints, pencils and an A3 sketchbook would be a good starting point. An apron is essential for any Art course just in case you are a messy painter.
What can I do next?
During your course, your tutor will offer guidance in your personal progression route.
What do I need to join the course
Be confident in your painting and creative work and like a challenge to see what you can do. It is not a course for a beginner.
