About the Tutor: Brenda Haydon
How will I be taught?
Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one instruction, and group discussion. You will be encouraged to look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and craftspeople.
You are encouraged to look at ways of improving and developing your work. Challenges will be identified, discussed and used as a learning tool.
At the start of the course you will work with your tutor to develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) this will set out what you want to achieve by the end of the course. Both you and your tutor will monitor and assess your progress throughout the course to ensure your learning needs are met.
There are no formal exams or tests to complete on this course.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please wear old clothes and shoes. Clay is paid for by weight at a reasonable rate in class, work must be paid for before it is fired.
Only clay purchased from the centre may be used in class to ensure saftey in the kilns.
Health and safety issues will be discussed and you will be instructed in the application of safe working practices.
Basic equipment will be available to use in class but you may want to build up your own selection of pottery tools as you progress.
What can I do next?
