This is a course to help you improve your English and/or maths whilst also improving your Work Skills. Work Skills courses can be joined at any time of the year. Course levels start from Pre-entry up to L2.

Our Work Skills courses are designed for learners who need to improve their English and maths for a variety of work and employability purposes.

Work Skills (English) courses help you gain the skills to plan and write letters, emails and reports for work, focusing on how to formulate your written work so that it flows logically and sequentially. A Work Skills (Maths) course covers skills required at work, e.g. money-handling, percentage calculations, time management, understanding payslips and work rotas. Although the course is not assessed by an examination, ask your tutor about possible accreditation options (see also below).

Please note: this course will require an initial assessment and regular attendance.

Who is the tutor?

About the Tutor: Gosia Sullivan

Gosia Sullivan is a qualified ESOL and Family Learning tutor who has worked in Adult Education for many years. With a wealth of experience in delivering to groups of all levels and nationalities, she provides in-depth learning and self-study for all learners, providing information and guidance on such topics as initial assessment, examinations and extra support.

How will I be taught?

The course will be taught in a friendly but focused atmosphere, where your individual needs are catered for. Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure that you achieve your full potential. Teaching and learning are carried out through formally taught sessions, discussion, group work, and supported with role play, task sheets and resource books, home study, feedback and evaluation.

What do I need to bring with me?

Notebook, pens, pencils and a folder. Your tutor will advise at the first session.
