Centre information
The Tonbridge Centre takes the form of two buildings, next to each other on Avebury Avenue right in the Town Centre. The creative classrooms are located on the top floors of a spacious Victorian Structure built in 1890 as The Technical Institute and Free Library. The second building was purpose-built in conjunction with the University of Kent and was opened in 1984 this provides good quality classrooms and a dedicated centre for English and maths.
The Tonbridge Adult Education Centre specialises in Art and Craft courses and has a fine reputation for Stained Glass, Sugarcraft, Floristry, Silversmithing, Jewellery, and Cookery. Students at Tonbridge often hold displays of their work in the small Gallery space on the ground floor.
Strengths in Tonbridge are Languages, Creative Writing and the Fitness and Wellbeing Programme.
