How will I be taught?
Teaching methods will include demonstration, explanation, discussion and times for question and answer sessions. Your tutor will demonstrate routines and talk you through all of the movements.
You will be carefully observed to ensure that you are working safely and be encouraged to monitor and record your progression on the course. Students will also be told the health benefits of dance and the teaching will reflect the different fitness levels of individuals.
On successful completion of this course students will be able to identify specific steps for personal use outside of the class. Participants must complete a health questionnaire before the start of the course which must be given to your tutor during the first session.
To assist us in providing a safe and healthy environment for you to exercise you will be asked to complete a Confidential Health Questionnaire. Your progress will be monitored through a Learning record and your own personal learning diary or fitness log.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will need:
- Suitable footwear and loose clothing
- A bottle of water
What can I do next?
Your tutor will be able to advise you.
What do I need to join the course
Everyone is welcome to join this course. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
This course is suitable for beginners or those with only a little prior knowledge. It is not necessary for students to have dancing partners already, although this is beneficial and partners are of course very welcome.
