How will I be taught?
This will be by demonstration and then working on your own under the guidance of the tutor. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and answers.
What do I need to bring with me?
Students should budget £10-15 for flowers. Buying flowers from the supermarket and supplementing these with greenery from your garden is a cost-effective way of providing the necessary course materials.
Mechanics will be available to purchase from the tutor, by prior arrangement – raffia to tie, tissue paper/cellophane to wrap
Please bring with you:-
Flowers, greenery and mechanics
Notebook and pen (optional)
We’ll be creating a handtied bouquet (gift wrapped).
You’ll need a selection of your favourite flowers. Bring a mixed bunch from the supermarket, or two. A mix of carnations, roses, and chrysanthemums would be great flowers to work with.
You’ll need a selection of greenery – from your garden or your florist. Bring long lengths - varieties like pittosporum and eucalyptus. Large leaves (fatsia or aspidistra) - optional
Raffia or sting to tie
Cellophane - two sheets
Tissue paper – two sheets
*These items will be available to buy in class (by prior arrangement) at £2.50 per person
