How will I be taught?
The emphasis is on oral communication (speaking and listening) but some reading and writing will be included. A variety of teaching strategies will be used. Cassettes/CDs and videos/DVDs may be used. You will study individually and also participate in pair and group work. The foreign language will be used most of the time.
Initial assessment is carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student starting point is recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and targets are set to aid development of the skill. These are revisited from time to time during the course to monitor and record progress.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts. Unless details are outlined above, we advise not to buy equipment, books or materials until after the first session.
What can I do next?
Your tutor will advise you on the appropriate follow up course.
