How will I be taught?
Collaborative work between students will ensure that each student develops the practice of the language from their starting point. The emphasis on this course is on listening and speaking. The lesson focus on language that is required in authentic situations. To help you develop language skills the course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. You will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play, games…). To ensure your progression, it is essential to attend on a regular basis. We also recommend that you spend 1 – 2 h each week doing private study as directed by your tutor.
With your tutor, you will monitor and record your progress on your learning plan (ILP)
What do I need to bring with me?
The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.
What can I do next?
For learners having completed a long Spanish Beginners course and this Spanish Beginners Summer course, the appropriate follow-on course is a Spanish Beginners Plus course. The learners who have started with the Spanish Beginners Summer school should seek advice from the tutor to enrol in the course best suited to their level. The tutor will be able to advise or please check our website at www.kentadulteducation.co.uk.
What do I need to join the course
This course is for both students who have completed a Beginners course and want to consolidate, and for students with a little basic knowledge or vocabulary who want to start with a short course before enrolling to their long course in the Autumn. If you are unsure, please carry out our self-assessment test available on www.kentadulteducation.co.uk. The assessment provides a score to help you chose the best course for you. If still unsure, speak to us or to a Curriculum Leader.
